LESMS Programs
Our toddler program is for children between 3 and 31 months and is separated from older children in their own classroom. Each child receives personal attention with many appropriate activities that foster language, vocabulary, coordination of movement and independence. The scope of activities expands, responding to the needs of the growing child. You will see these youngsters engaging in many different activities as well as learning social skills. Potty training is included in the toddler program.
Our preschool program is for children between 2.9 and 4 years of age and the curriculum is modeled after the Montessori philosophy. Each child receives personal attention while participating in activities including vocabulary, word building, writing recognition of numerals and counters as well as addition, maps, names of continents, while coordinating fine motor skills through many skills and sensory motor activities. The music and songs are part of the circle time while every 3 hours in the day includes 30 minutes of playground time. The scope of the activities expand, responding to the needs of the growing child and include science, math and cultural topics.
LESMS understands that families have busy schedules and therefore we offer both early and after hours care for children enrolled at LESM. Our early hours start at 7:30AM and our extended hours end at 6:00PM. Children who participate in extended hours are able to further take advantage of the skills acquired through the various activities following the Montessori curriculum.
The LESMS Summer program follows the same time schedule as our school year program. LESMS is conveniently located next to Willamsburg Bridge where children will spend most of day enjoying outdoor activities, which include but are not limited to sports, music and movement and arts and craft projects.
